Exposing the lies of marijuana being a “medicine”
The same group of “Republican” South Carolina senators and house representatives have been pushing to legalize marijuana (THC) here since 2016. Every legislative session they get closer and closer. They and the marijuana industry have declared 2025 as their year to finally pass the “Compassionate Care Act” (S 53).
This website is a compilation of the most recent news, data and research and testimonials of the negative impact that re-defining marijuana as a “medicine” would bring to this state and our people. Only truth can change the narrative that marijuana (THC) is a “medicine.” This legislation would make our government and its Dept. of Public Health the largest drug dealer in the state. Hundreds of thousands of people will become enslaved in the use of marijuana-THC provided in the name of “compassion” to take away their pain and anxiety.
Please take the time to read the information herein and respond accordingly. Let’s Keep SC healthy by upholding the law and affirming what true medicine and compassion really is.
Marijuana is NOT “medicine.”
Marijuana is NOT “compassionate.”
Marijuana is NOT “healthy” for South Carolina.

It's just not true medicine.
Marijuana is a psychotic and illegal substance that has severe mental and physical negative effects. Both the APA and AMA have made clear stances about its dangers.
-
Psychosis & mental health
Marijuana (cannabis) has well documented links to psychosis, paranoia, anxiety, depression and even violence. It does not help to alleviate these mental health issues but rather compounds them.
-
Physical & economic effects
Marijuana use has been linked to various head, neck and throat cancers as well as vaping causes severe lung damage. The economic impact on society is also a serious problem.
-
It's illegal
Marijuana is an illegal substance at the federal level. It is still classified as a Schedule I (addictive, non-therapeutic) drug which has no Current Accepted Medical Use. Even if the DEA changes the drug classification it will always remain illegal at the federal level.
-
Vaping THC
The proposed legislation “SC Compassionate Care Act” allows for the use of up to 8,200 mg of pure THC to be used every two weeks, via vaping or edibles, etc. Vaping any substance can cause serious health issues.

THC vs CBD
CBD (cannabidiol oil) is already legal here in S.C. It is mostly non-psychoactive (has less than .3% THC in it) and acts on the body and mind differently than Tetrahydrocannibinol (isomers delta 8, 9, 10) which is highly psychoactive and intoxicating.

South Carolina does not have to follow the marijuana industry’s lead as other states are doing.
We can Keep this beautiful state from going down the terrible path towards legalization. We deserve better than what the billion $$$ marijuana and vaping industries have planned for us in January 2025 (If you didn’t know already, the major focus of this legalization effort is on “vaping” pure THC so the vape industry has a large interest in this too). Just think about this aspect: they want us to believe that a “medicine” can be vaped! How ridiculous is that?
Even if South Carolina is the last great holdout against this dark movement in the U.S. then let it be us. Let us always stand on the side of science, facts and truth.
